GLÓRACH NOTES: Bingo continues on Monday evenings at 8.30 pm at the Glórach Theatre, we would like to thank you for your continued support into the New Year and it has been great to see new faces as well. On Wednesday, February 7 at 8 pm we will be screening Shankly: Nature’s Fire, a 2017 documentary on the legendary Liverpool FC manager, Bill Shankly. A socialist and a man of the people, few managers elicited the degree of warmth felt towards him by the clubs supporters. The Scot, who managed the club between 1959-74, helped raise the Merseyside club from its slumber, winning two leagues, two FA cups and the old UEFA cup in 1973. His groundwork laid the foundations for the club’s utter dominance of the game from the mid 1970′s to the early ’90′s, and given how potent a force they were back then it’s hard to believe that Liverpool have not won the league in 28 years. Contributors to the film include Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Roger Hunt, Irvine Welsh and Kevin Keegan. A must for all Liverpool and football fans and for anyone with a general curiosity, we look forward to seeing you at the Glórach on Wednesday next. For any enquiries, please call 0871383940.
